St Patricks Day

St Patricks day is celebrated all over the world on the 17th March by Irish men and woman in many places.  It’s an opportunity to become an honorary Irish person for the day and enjoy the celebrations in its many forms.

The Irish Guards receive their Shamrock on St Patricks day, where ever they may be.  Whilst in UK a member of the Royal family presents the shamrock to the battalion.  The shamrock originates from the island of Ireland.
